Tour Overview

The Marangu Route is the oldest and most established route to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. It is often called the "Coca-Cola Route" because of its gradual ascent and the presence of huts instead of tents, making it more comfortable for climbers. The route starts from Marangu Village, located on the southern side of the mountain.

It is also known as the "Mother Route" because it was the path used by Hans Meyer, the first European to successfully reach the summit in 1889.

The Marangu Route can be completed in either five or six days, depending on whether you take an extra day at Horombo Hut for acclimatization.
